Volvo Ocean Race heads into Auckland, New Zealand

Volvo Ocean Race teams are heading towards Auckland, New Zealand at the present moment with Groupama Sailing Team 531.9 NM away in first place,  Team Telefonia 629.1 NM to go in second place and Puma ocean Racing Team by Berg 650.8 NM in third place.  These placing where at time of writing, 8 March 2012,  2117 New Zealand Time.  Check out the present placings at

The 4th Leg, Sanya to Auckland is nearly coming to the end, the preview of this leg and the scoreboard results at the start of  leg 4.  A quick look at the scoreboard results are
1st place Team Telefonica on 101 points
2nd place Camper with Emirates Team New Zealand on 83 points
3rd place Groupama Sailing Team on 73 points

Put as aways anything could happen with leg 4 just finishing and 5 legs to go to complete the 9 leg race.

Don't know where Sanya is, don't worry nor did I.  It is the Southern most city in the Hainan Province, China.
