Now more than ever there seems to be great demand for all sorts of different dietary requirements. These requirements stem from many varying reasons, trends, health, religion, and culture. Some of the most common diets as chefs on board Superyachts come across are, gluten free, wheat free, lactose intolerant, vegetarian, vegan, Jewish dietary requirements, the low-carb diet, blood type diet just to name a few.
When I studied to become a chef dietary requirements were not really covered from memory apart from may be vegetarian. These diets can catch you on the hop especially when told on day one that half the guests are on a South Beach diet "oh sorry we forgot to tell you" as they say with a smile. "yeh right" I am thinking in my head!. But these days thank god for the Internet.
