Mahonesa

Whilst flicking through a magazine on a break from work, I came across Bread with asparagus and mahonesa.  I thought what on earth is mahonesa, on reading further it is simply another name for mayonnaise.  Apparently both words are derived from the ancient town and harbour of Mahon, on the Spanish Island of Minorca, which most of you will know and been too.

So if requiring a fancy word on a menu to describe mayonnaise, mahonesa sounds much more nicer and interesting.
