The Food Of India by Murdooch Books
If you where to buy any Indian cook book this would have to be the one. True Indian recipes, loads of background information for example on bread making; types of breads, flours etc plus recipes with beautiful photos of the finished result. Get your spice draw up to date and start cooking Indian, my favourite section is the Sweets and Drinks with a wonderful photo of Kulfi which is a milk based, cardamom spiced, pistachio, almond ice, which apparently are sold on the road side in India, basically an Indian ice block.
And there is a recipe for Chai Coffee I am going to check this one out today. I have had this book for years and used it heaps, a five star buy.
