Basmati Rice

Known in India as the queen of rice. India is the largest producer of Basmati rice mostly grown in the Punjab region, the next largest cultivator is Pakistan. Traditionally the rice was grown in the foot hills of the Himalayas. In Sanskrit Basmatic means "the fragrant one" named after is fragrant soft flavour.
The rice is a long rice and once cooked is not sticky more free flowing style of rice.  Basmati can be brought in white or brown.  Basmati rice is used in Indian cuisine.
All rice is gluten free, so great for those gluten free guests therefore plain rice crackers are gluten free, flavoured rice crackers might have gluten flavourings added.
